Bobby’s expedition is customised in some significant ways from their standard Mera Peak trip. These changes take account of the unique needs presented by his disability challenge for on-mountain support and support technology to promote the expedition as he goes.

The non-standard resources being provided for Bobby are:

  • 1 x expedition leader
  • 1 x videographer / photographer / blogger / media liaison
  • Satellite Internet modem / Wi-Fi
  • Solar charging equipment to power phones / satellite internet modem / iPad
  • Arranging extra resources including helicopter transfers
  • Additional scheduled days to “bullet proof” Bobby’s acclimatisation and maximise his rest
  • 3 x expert Nepali guides (only 1 is standard)
  • 2 x cooks (1 or fewer is standard)
  • 4 x porters (2 is standard)
  • Special food / hygiene controlled billeting in Kathmandu to provide Bobby the optimal pre-mountain preparation environment
