At 8,848 meters, Mount Everest is the tallest mountain of the world. It is considered one of the most challenging mountains to climb. Over 3,000 climbers from over 20 countries had recorded climbs. As of 2012 there were over 220 recorded fatalities.
Bobby will require a dedicated support team to help him with his ascent this includes expedition leader Andrew Lock, six Sherpas a dedicated doctor and a cameraman to record his expedition. This all comes at a cost, Bobby is seeking to raise $200,000 to help him pay some of the costs he will incur. The cost of engaging the Sherpas alone equals $66,000. Added to this are the costs associated Bobby’s disability, employing a doctor for the duration of the climb, approximately $20,000. It is estimated the total cost of the expedition will be $450,000. Bobby has been working hard to secure the support of a broad range of sponsors who have already provided support throughout his training campaign. Including his previous climbs of Mount Kala Pattar and Mira Peak.
